Head of Frontend Engineering
Head of Frontend Engineering leading ~70+ engineers. Shape architecture, scale teams, and drive engineering culture in a high-impact product org. True system-level leadership role.
We are looking for a Head of Frontend Engineering to lead a large engineering unit (~70+ engineers, including Team Leads) and drive the development of our frontend direction, engineering culture, and product quality.
This is a systems and leadership role, focused on scaling teams, improving engineering processes, and influencing architecture — not day-to-day hands-on development.
Your Mission:
Lead the frontend organization (engineering + UI/design teams), ~70+ engineers
Scale teams through Team Leads and develop engineering leaders
Build and evolve engineering culture, standards, and best practices
Design and improve development and delivery processes
Ensure quality, stability, and predictability of product delivery
Participate in architectural decisions (including microfrontend approach)
Manage technical debt and improve system sustainability
Drive hiring and development of key engineering talent
Collaborate closely with Product, Backend, and Design teams
Your Unique Contribution:
5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including managing 40+ people through Team Leads
Proven experience scaling engineering organizations and delivery processes
Strong background in frontend development
Experience developing engineers and tech leads (mentoring, performance management, growth planning)
Understanding of complex frontend architectures
Experience with high-load web applications
Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams
Fluency in Russian is required for effective day-to-day collaboration within the engineering team
